Camille Henderson Davis, Ph.D.
EXECUTIVE COACH
As an executive coach, my passion is helping the people around me thrive, and a critical part of that is understanding the obstacles that get in the way. I completed my Ph.D. in History at the University of Chicago, where I explored the mechanics of racial integration. My research gave me deep insight into what it takes for people of different backgrounds to come together and work effectively, allowing them to operate as high-performance teams and grow professionally.
With this foundation established, my career evolved through four phases. I began as an external consultant and executive coach, partnering with leaders of major research organizations and Fortune 500 companies seeking to build effective diversity strategies. I moved into internal people strategy at Genentech-Roche, leading diversity work in Research and Development and coaching executives to use this work to improve employee retention, development, and productivity. From there, I moved into the biotech startup world at Agios Pharmaceuticals, running HR, building a healthy workplace culture, and serving as a member of our Leadership Team as we grew rapidly and took the company public. When I decided to coach full-time, I completed Brown University’s Leadership and Performance Coaching program and the International Coaching Federation’s coaching certification to deepen my skill set and fluency in coaching best practices.
As a coach, I’ve partnered with executives across a range of industries, including Biotech/Pharma, Venture Capital, Healthcare, Higher Education, and Technology. While the specifics vary, the constellation of challenges does not. We start by making sense of their world. We name the issues. We create a relationship that redefines how they see themselves. We explore the organizational dynamics they face and build the capacity to navigate them. At every turn, they learn to use their strengths to overcome the obstacles in front of them.
The result is transformative: They uncover and confidently embrace their unique leadership identity. They own their potential and are prepared to excel in their current role or pursue a new direction.
As a client noted recently, “Camille is a coach, accountability partner, and trusted voice in my life.”
My commitment to coaching is rooted in the powerful relationships I build with my clients as they grow as leaders.
If you’re ready to take the first step, I’ll walk the path with you.
